Expo 2020- Glorious Years Ahead For Dubai

The Dubai economy is all boosted up before the beginning of the big event that is going to be conducted during 2020. Organized under the Bureau of International Expositions and after voting out four cities, Dubai emerged as the winner to host the Expo 2020. The 167 member nations voted in favor of Dubai in Paris to decide on the venue of Expo 2020 on November 27, 2013. Dubai has made a last minute entry and emerged as the winner to host the biggest trade fair in the world. In fact, Dubai celebrated its meritorious feat by bursting firecrackers at Burj Khalifa, the tallest building of the world and declaring holidays for schools in the city.

The world expo is going to be held for the first time ever in the history of MENA Region comprising Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region. UAE was a participant in the recent expos held in Italy in May 2015 and those held in Shanghai, Spain and Germany. And this time, the turn for hosting the Expo went downright to Dubai since its last minute entry. Dubai has been chosen to host the Expo 2020 by a voting margin of 116 votes. And Dubai and UAE is all set to conduct the first Expo in Middle East. This year, the Expo is held under the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.

The economy of UAE and Dubai, in particular expects a big growth by leaps and bounds. With a platform set for its flourishing infrastructure and real estate industry, Dubai has won the right to host Expo 2020 at the right time. The biggest trade expo in 2020 is expected to bring in 25 million visitors of which about 70 percent from overseas. The six month long Expo to be conducted from October 20, 2020 through April 10, 2020 will mark the beginning of the Golden Jubilee Celebration and act as a catalytic agent to promote Dubai’s progressive economy in the coming decades through increased penetration in all its thriving industrial sectors.
